A little bit about me...

I grew up in Columbus and graduated from Bishop Ready High School. Shortly after high school I moved to Orlando, Florida where I spent the next thirty years before relocating back to my home state of Ohio. After high school I worked full time and put myself through college by taking evening classes. I graduated from Barry University in 1995. It took a while to earn my Bachelor’s degree, but perseverance pays off.

I spent 12 years in the Life and Health Insurance industry, the last four of which were in international business. The next dozen years, also in international business, were spent in the financial services industry as part of a software development team responsible for one of the most successful international credit card processing systems in the world. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work on some really great teams and built friendships that endure to this day. The concept of having fun at work and teams that are actually like family does exist!

Outside of work, I love the outdoors: hiking, biking, beaches, mountains, great adventures in general. My faith is important to me as well. I’ve endured some challenges in my life, but my faith has carried me through. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had and the friends I’ve made along the way and I look forward to what lies ahead.

God - Family - Service

It's not about you...

My faith is important to me. I've had the privilege of studying under some great mentors and Bible teachers, to whom I'm grateful. I currently attend Rock City Church, participate in small groups and volunteery activities. Bible study, prayer, and attending services continue to be an integral part of my life.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is 2 Chronicles 20. It's the story of the king of Judah, a powerful man leading a powerful nation, who was faced with what appeared to be overwhelming circumstances. There are great life lessons in this chapter for all of us, especially for men as spiritual leaders of our homes. We are not the answer but He is…… Read it! I think you'll appreciate it and I have a PowerPoint waiting for you that breaks down the key points.

Some other favorite verses include: Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 91, Psalm 121:5-8, Romans 8:28, Romans 1:20, and Colossians 1:16

I have always believed the best way to lift up yourself is to to lift up those around you. We grow by helping others grow.

Network with great People

A good network is key...

I'm blessed to have a very supportive network of people around me: family, friends, mentors, and Bible teacher. I have a very large extended family, my mother, brothers and sisters as well as, aunts, uncles and cousins. Although we're spread out, we are close and support each other. My family is great.

Likewise, my friends are good people with similar values and interests. I have developed friendships with some awesome people across the spectrum of my life. They all have one thing in common; I love and appreciate them all.

The mentors and Bible teachers I've met have been invaluable to me. I have been blessed with some outstanding teachers and mentors who not only talk about the Bible and teach it, but they actually live it! Imagine that!

Rosshirt Water for Africa Foundation is a Non-Profit that my brother, Tim, created several years ago. He's been able to help thousands of people in Africa gain access to clean water by drilling wells and keeping them in working order. It's really an amazing organization and I encourage you to check it out.

Love All...

Over the years I've had the privilege to participate in a lot of volunteer activities: feeding the homeless, providing Christmas to needy families, Habitat for Humanity, Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, teaching adult education, etc…. I'm an encourager by nature and sincerely love to help others succeed. I've been fortunate enough to meet people from many walks of life and from many countries. From the homeless to senior business executives, the principle is the same for me: treat everyone with love and respect.

I love the outdoors, nature, and exploring the world.

Things that I enjoy...

I've always been interested in health and fitness (not always in the best shape, but like it anyway). One of my fondest memories as a little boy is exercising with my Mom in the living room to Jack LaLanne on TV!

I love the outdoors: hiking, mountains, beaches, golf courses, etc… I've been blessed to see some fantastic places (e.g. Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Havasu Falls, Antelope Canyon, Pebble Beach, and many more) and amazing scenery with many wonderful friends! I also enjoy bird watching and nature photography, something I picked up while living in Ft. Lauderdale.

My next endeavor is to combine my love of nature and God to create inspirational "post cards" I can share with others, just to give someone the lift they may need.
